Earthen Hollow Tree Weave

This epic Tree Weave is situated on a beautiful permaculture homestead in Old Fort, NC, which is about 40 minutes east of Asheville. The Tree Weave itself is 30 ft high in a little gathering of Poplars. To get up, you climb up the ladder, which is made up climbing holds (all super solid jugs) and a robust webbing ladder. It’s surprisingly fun and easy to get up to the top. There is a top rope set up so you can climb up safely using a progress capturing device. The property itself is called Earthen Hollow and is being set up as an Airbnb and HIpCamp retreat center. It has two spring fed ponds, 3 streams, 75 acres of land to explore, some beautiful murals and sculptures, a huge sauna, nice wooden hot tub, as well as an epic orchard and a huge farm. I’m sure more beauty and art will be coming to this property in the next couple years as more and more fantastic Western North Carolina locals pour their labor and creativity into it. Climb up into this creative, magically netted treehouse and appreciate the incredible views of the Appalachian mountains. —River Echeverria, 1/10/21
