3 Sisters Tower Level 3

You enter up a webbing ladder through a portal in the corner to arrive on Level 3. There was a large branch growing into the net which we bonsai-ed so that it would live in the same plane as the wall. This branch serves as a natural backrest and a natural step up to the next level. This Level is fully walled in now, with a little star design in one of the walls.

We chose as super static amsteel because the areas we working in were so small if we used any other material the perimeter would have sucked in so much the surface area of the floor would have been too small to sit or stand on. Ultra static materials such as amsteel are perfect for when you need the perimeter to not be displaced at all.

Colors are Sea-foam (not in use), Lilac with Purple Diamonds (not in use) and Orange amsteel rope. The Seafoam is no longer in use because we learned it fades quickly. The Lilac with Purple Diamonds color is no longer in use because we learned that it breaks rapidly due to its external sheath patterning.

At the time of construction we were using handmade macrame tree protection. We spent hours using the paracord colors to make custom tree huggers that go around the trees and hold logs in place, which pad the tree from the rope. We don’t typically make this type of tree padding anymore because of its cumbersome, arduous and time consuming nature. We later learned that a simpler type of tree protection (bolting and sheathing) is more than sufficient.
