To Weave a Tree Net is to Cast a Powerful Binding Spell
A forest is held together by an underground network of roots, interwoven to create a strong subterranean fabric that holds the entire forest anchored in place. This fabric also provides the solidity that allows for trees to grow tall and erect. When the wind blows, the amount that they sway is limited by how deep, wide, and interconnected their root network is. The roots are not just tap systems to bring water to the entire organism. They are the structural foundation of trees, and these foundations are stronger when the networks and connections between the trees are stronger. One tree with roots in the ground is much less strong than two trees with roots interwoven together, and so on.
To weave a Tree Weave is to structurally reinforce this network, as an above ground canopy. Depending on where the net is attached to the tree, and how many connections it has, the Tree Weave helps stabilize individual trees by supporting their motion, in relation to the trees they are connected to via the the Tree Weave. But don’t worry: unlike treehouses, which are rigid structures, Tree Weaves are elastic, and still allow a natural amount of motion to the organisms they are bound to. Trees are elastic too; they enjoy blowing in the wind, and are constantly reinforcing their structures based on the forces put upon them. Tree Weaves are able to structurally support and reinforce a network of trees, without limiting their natural range of motion.
