Spider Web Climbing Wall
As children, many of us experienced the irresistible urge to find something to climb on, whether it be trees, rocks, or playground structures. In fact, there are still many adults who feel the familiar itch to climb as well, especially amongst our very own Tree Weaves staff. This is why we love it when a client asks us to incorporate a spider web climbing wall into their design for a tree net or playground structure.
What exactly is a spider web climbing wall? As the name suggests, it is a wall designed to be climbed on that can often be constructed in the shape of a spider web. However, we do not always use the spider web design for these climbing walls.
The spider web climbing wall at the Community Pizza Tree Weave in Wimberly, Texas is a great example of just how much fun one of these climbing walls can be. We installed a spider web climbing wall on the back wall of this playground structure using yellow 1” tubular webbing and 550 paracord. The webbing helps form easy and comfortable handholds and footholds for kids, or adventurous adults, who are looking to embrace their inner monkey.
Another great feature of this spider web climbing wall at the Community Pizza Tree Weave is that the climbing wall allows kids to explore the fun of climbing while still being within the safety of the net. At any time of day, visitors to Community Pizza and Beer Garden are bound to see kids joyfully playing on the net and utilizing the extra features, such as the spider web climbing wall and slide.
